Directed by: John Mackenzie
Synopsis: Screenplay by Frederick Forsyth based on his novel of the same name. British agent John Preston (Michael Caine) suspects the Russians are planning to set off a nuclear bomb in the U.K. and hopes to catch those responsible before it is too late.
Kitty Cameo: Near the end of the film, Preston is closing in on KGB agent Valeri Petrofsky (Pierce Brosnan) and sets up an undercover command center outside the man’s rented home. Just as the operation begins, a little boy exits his house calling for his orange tabby cat appropriately named Ginger. Ginger runs across the complex away from the boy.

The cat climbs on top of a pergola out of the boy’s reach as Petrofsky looks out the window.

Preston and his agents sit in frustration as the boy tries to get the cat. The cat runs off and the boy is eventually nabbed and pulled away from the scene by a British agent.

Final Mewsings: Cats have no respect for undercover operations.
