Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains a significant spoiler for this film!
Synopsis: Paul Brenner (John Travolta) is an undercover detective working on a case at a military base when the General’s daughter is murdered and he steps in to investigate.
Cat Burglar (Scene Stealer): One of the suspects is Colonel Moore (James Woods) and Paul and fellow detective Sara (Madeleine Stowe) go to his house to question him. When they arrive a long-haired ginger cat jumps on a table then jumps down when Paul approaches.
Later in the film Paul and Sara return to Moore’s home to hear the stereo blasting inside. There is some movement around the window blinds and as they watch the cat appears, pawing at the window and smearing blood on the pane.
Paul and Sara force their way into the house and see bloody paw prints everywhere. As they walk through the house, the cat runs ahead, leading them to the body of Moore lying in a pool of blood on the couch, having apparently shot himself.
As Moore’s body is taken away, the cat is loaded into a cage and removed from the scene.
Final Mewsings: Why was the cat being arrested?
