Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: Based on the book series by Philip Pullman. In an alternative universe, a young girl named Lyra Belacqua (Dakota Blue Richards) finds herself on a quest to find her father and deliver the “golden compass” to him.
Purr Blurs: In this universe, everyone has a spirit animal or “daemon” which accompanies them everywhere. As such several cats are seen in different crowd scenes throughout the film.
Lyra herself has an daemon named Pan who is constantly changing shape, and one of these is of a cat but it is actually a wildcat and technically does not count on this particular blog. But we do want to give Pan a nod.
Final Mewsings: So do crazy cat ladies have like 20 cat daemons?
