Cat Out of the Bag Alert!  This review contains some spoilers for this film!

Synopsis: Ethan (Logan Miller) and Sean (Keir Gilchrist) are two teenaged boys who decide to run an experiment on their cantankerous eldlerly neighbor Mr. Grainey (James Caan) which leads to unexpected consequences.

Kitty Cameo: At the beginning of the film there is a montage of location shots. One of these shows a ginger tabby cat sitting on a fence.

Featured Feline: Mr. Grainey owns a Himalayan cat which first shows up in a classic scare moment when Ethan is startled by the cat while in Grainey’s house.

The boys set up surveillance cameras all around Grainey’s house and the cat is sitting in front of one of these as the boys prepare for their first experiment.

The cat is then seen moving away from the camera and stops at Grainey’s chair. Grainey reaches down and pets the cat.

The cat is seen occassionally around Grainey’s house throughout the film.

In one scene the cat is sitting on top of Grainey’s stereo when the boys start it remotely, causing the cat to run.

In one pivotal moment the cat knocks one of the cameras from its place.

Ethan sneaks into Grainey’s house to retrieve the camera and takes a gun with him. He points the gun at the cat and mimics shooting the animal.

A back story segment shows how the cat came to be in the house, but we won’t give you any more spoilers!

Final Mewsings: Cats are tired of being video recorded all the time!
