Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: After the death of his mother, Mark (Elijah Wood) is sent to live with his uncle’s family while his father works oversea. It seems like a loving home until Mark realizes his cousin Henry (Macaulay Culkin) is displaying increasingly disturbing behavior.
Kitty Cameo: In one scene Henry is showing Mark a weapon he has invented; a converted crossbow which shoots bolts. Henry sets his sites on a tuxedo cat wearing a collar.
Mark reminds Henry not to hit the cat, just to scare her.
When Henry shoots, the bolt hits a tree behind the cat.
The cat scurries off and Mark praises Henry on his marksmanship. But Henry softly notes that the sight is not yet right. According to the American Humane Association, the wall the cat was sitting on was heated so the cat actor would be comfortable and stay put during the shoot.
Final Mewsings: For once the cat got lucky!
