Fine Line Features
Starring: Piper Laurie, Nell Carter
Directed by: Charles Matthau
Synopsis: Based on the novel by Truman Capote. After the death of his parents, a young boy named Collin Fenwick (Edward Furlong) goes to live with his aunts, who are radically different from each other, and learns about life and love.
Kitty Cameos: Collin’s Aunt Dolly (Piper Laurie) and her childhood companion Catherine (Nell Carter) are sitting in the kitchen when Collin arrives and is brought into the house by stern Aunt Verena (Sissy Spacek). Dolly is holding a long-haired white cat and a Bengal striped cat is sitting on a table behind them.
Verena stops in the doorway to let them know the boy has arrived and tells Dolly to get rid of the cat so it won’t aggravate her asthma. As Verena and Collin walk away, Catherine complains but Dolly gently tells her to hush.
The Bengal tabby is next seen getting into Catherine’s goldfish. Catherine angrily grabs the cat and tosses it out of the kitchen.
The Bengal tabby is seen once more sitting on the kitchen table as Dolly helps Collin make his Halloween costume.
Final Mewsings: Cats love hanging out in the kitchen.
