Synopsis: A notable screen adaptation of Victor Hugo’s classic novel. Quasimodo (Charles Laughton) lives in the bell tower of Notre Dame where he watches the happenings of Paris from afar, but becomes personally involved when the life of the beautiful gypsy Esmerelda (Maureen O’Hara) is at stake.
Cat Cattle Call: The Chief Justice is Frollo (Cedric Hardwicke) who has raised Quasimodo from a foundling. An otherwise ruthless man, Frollo has a love for animals which is evident when we see the inside of his chamber is filled with cats.
Frollo is holding one cat and petting another when he is called away.
Final Mewsings: Frollo should have just been content with his cats.
