Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: Aaron Hallam (Benicio Del Toro) is a special ops assassin who has gone off the rails and the authorities need L.T. Bonham (Tommy Lee Jones), the man who trained him, to track him down.
Kitty Cameo: When L.T. visits the home of a former girlfriend of Aaron’s named Irene (Leslie Stefanson), he notices a tabby cat as it comes walking in the room. This is Kitty, whom Aaron and the woman’s daughter had talked about in a previous scene, Aaron explaining to the girl how Kitty is hunting and shouldn’t be disturbed.
Moments later L.T. is searching the house and spots Kitty on the little girl’s bed. The cat ducks behind a pillow.
It’s interesting to note that the tabby cat appears to have a wire or harness around its middle. It’s not uncommon for cat actors to have a filiment tether to keep them in place, but this is not noted in the American Humane Association’s write up of the movie.
Final Mewsings: Cats prefer to hunt rather than be hunted.
