Synopsis: Two mice named Hubie (voiced by Mel Blanc) and Bertie (voice by Stan Freberg) trick a hypochondriac cat named Claude (voiced by Mel Blanc) into thinking he is dying.
Cartoon Cat: Claude the cat starred in several Merrie Melodies cartoons. In this outing he is chasing after the two mice who have broken into his home to eat some cheese.
Claude poses as a waiter before chasing after the mice.
The mice soon discover Claude’s weakness when he becomes terrified of an open window then loads up on medications and takes his temperature.
Sensing an angle, Hubie and Bert convince Claude he looks terrible and is changing all different colors, including plaid!
Claude begs the mice to help him.
Hubie and Bert pretend they are going to operate on Claude and frighten him so much he passes out.
While unconscious, Claude has a terrifying nightmare with bizarre imagery.
When Claude awakens he sees Hubie and Bert crying over his grave.
The mice convince Claude he is now dead and must go to cat heaven.
Claude happily floats off into the sky via a balloon the mice have attached to him.
Final Mewsings: Cats should not seek medical advice from mice.
