Synopsis: Steve West (Alex Rebar) is an astronaut who returns to Earth a changed man; specifically a gelatinous mess that now kills people.
Kitty Cameo: Dr. Ted Nelson (Burr DeBenning) is working on the case and is seen at home with his wife Judy (Ann Sweeny) throughout the film. In one scene Judy is home alone and the melting man is lurking nearby. She hears a noise and goes to investigate. When she flips on the light, she realizes the noise she heard was her Siamese mix cat Elsie breaking a bottle of milk. It isn’t clear where or how the cat would have broken the bottle in the middle of the floor. Or why they suddenly have a cat when she hasn’t appeared before this and won’t appear again!
As Judy picks up the pieces of the broken bottle, she laughs to herself, “Oh Elsie, you stupid cat, you spilled the milk.” Ted then comes in and scares her and she repeats that Elsie spilled the milk yet again.
Final Mewsings: Cats don’t cry or laugh over spilt milk.
