Synopsis: Judge Thomas Bailey (Alexander Knox) feels burdened by his society-climbing wife and takes advantage of a miscommunication to disappear, leaving Boston and taking up residence at a California eatery where he falls in love with the owner, a single woman named Peggy (Ann Sothern).
Kitty Cameo: When the Judge arrives at the diner along Highway 101 in California, he enters to find the place empty. A cat is barely visible sitting on the counter of the pass in the background.
When the Judge calls out to ask if anyone is there the cat is shown in a brief close up. The cat doesn’t appear again in the film.
Final Mewsings: We sure hope the cat didn’t end up as the blue plate special!
