Synopsis: Once-celebrated “kid detective” Abe Applebaum (Adam Brody) is now 32 but still solving trivial mysteries between hangovers and bouts of self-pity. But he gets his first ‘adult’ case when a client hires him to find out who brutally murdered her boyfriend.
Purr Blurs: The first cat seen in the film is in a photograph brought to Abe by a woman who wants him to find her missing cat. His unenthusiastic response is to tell her the cat is probably dead.

Soon after this, as Abe makes his way to his office early one morning, a series of establishing shots of the town includes one of a tabby cat hurrying across a street. No other cats are seen in the film although the cat in the photo is mentioned several times.

Final Mewsings: If detectives could find missing cats they would be our most valuable members of society!
Many thanks to Wahrhaftig for also spotting the cats in this film.
