by Linda Kay
Starring: Dory
Directed by: Francis Lawrence
Synopsis: Based on a story by Stephen King. A group of young men from a dystopian society embark on a nationally sponsored contest to walk at least three miles an hour consistently until the last man.
Kitty Cameo: As the contestants reach the 25 mile mark they pass a blind tabby and white cat sitting on a row of mailboxes. The curious cat sniffs at the air as they pass.

The cat was played by Dory, a resident of Manitoba where the film was shot. Michelle Newfeld, who is the president of a local animal rescue, found Dory as a blind kitten when she was three weeks old. Her appearance in the film garnered her some attention from the local press, as in this video report from CBC News Manitoba:
Final Mewsings: The kitty didn’t need to see the carnage that was to come.
