by Mark Murton
Directed by: John Boulting
Synopsis: A chronicle of the life of British inventor and early cinema pioneer, William Friese-Greene.
Purr Blur: Elated by finally achieving a successful moving image, Friese-Greene (Robert Donat) rushes out into the alley behind his studio keen to find someone with whom he can share his news, disturbing a black cat in the process. The cat runs away with a dubbed over Poor Cat Screech.

Final Mewsings: It’s only right a cat was present at the birth of cinema as films would be much poorer without them.
