Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this episode!
Synopsis: In a subplot to this episode focused on Sue’s Leap Year birthday surprise party, Frankie (Patricia Heaton) is surprised to learn that Mike (Neil Flynn) has been caring for a cat at the quarry which he has named Limestone and tries to force Mike to deal with his feelings when the cat passes away.
Kitty Cameo: While we never actually get to see Limestone himself, it’s clear the impact which the animal has on Mike, whose character remains stoic and pragmatic even when faced with such an emotional situation. So at the end of the show when a tough cat wanders into Mike’s office (which he promptly names Granite), it’s the perfect conclusion.
Final Mewsings: Cats can touch anyone’s life at any time.
