Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: British archeologists uncover the mummy of Imhotep (Boris Karloff) who comes back to life to seek the woman he died for centuries before.
Kitty Cameo: In several scenes Imhotep is seen sitting with a white cat nearby.
When Helen (Zita Johann) is summoned to Imhotep’s abode she brings her dog with her. As the dog enters he barks at the cat, which hisses in return (no sound is heard, just the footage of the cat hissing).
After sharing his story with Helen, Imhotep explains that the god Bast must kill the man who loves her. The white cat is seen again then runs out of the room. Moments later the dog is heard crying and yelping. Helen later recalls seeing the white cat on the dead dog.
The cat is seen one last time again at Imhotep’s side.
Final Mewsings: All good mummies need a cat sidekick!
