Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: Recently widowed, newly wealthy Irene Trent (Barbara Stanwyck) indulges in regular bouts of titanic and voluble eardrum-shattering screaming as she’s repeatedly haunted by the ghostly apparition of creepy and possessive late husband Howard Trent (Hayden Rorke). More welcome are the nightly and mysterious surreal visitations from her literal dream man (Lloyd Bochner). Attorney Barry Morland (Robert Taylor) and employee-beautician Joyce Holliday (Judi Meredith) assist Irene in her struggle for sanity and survival.
Purr Blur: Late one evening after closing, a black cat trots past Irene’s beauty shop, which will subsequently receive a deadly visitor in the form of Howard Trent.
Final Mewsings: Cats can serve as harbingers of danger to those attuned to their message.
