Columbia Pictures Corporation
Starring: Charley Chase, Phyllis Barry
Directed by: Jules White
Synopsis: Newly hired crimimology Professor Chase (Charley Chase) is appalled to find out that he is the somnambulistic kleptomaniac the campus has been looking for.
Kitty Cameo: Charley’s wife (Phyllis Barry) is in bed, unaware of her husband’s nighttime thievery. She is kept awake by a tuxedo cat which is yowling on the back fence. The cat is seen briefly.
The sound of the cat screeching can be heard throughout a conversation between Chase and his wife, but when the cat is shown again with a terrier barking at it the cat seems completely relaxed.
This same footage was recycled in the Andy Clyde’s 1956 remake of the film called Pardon My Nightshirt.
Final Mewsings: This is the calmest supposedly screeching cat we have ever seen!
