The Other Side of Madness (1971)

by Linda Kay

Also Known As: The Helter Skelter Murders

Directed by: Frank Howard

Synopsis: Exploitive pseudo-documentary which purports to accurately re-enact the infamous Manson murders, including court testimony, the heinous first night of carnage plus a lot of questionable footage of naked hippies.

Kitty Cameos: Scenes shot at the actual Spahn Ranch include several animals alongside actors playing the various Manson family members. A black cat walks past the camera in one shot.

What appears to be another black cat (this one is wearing a collar) is later sitting on the kitchen counter grooming its feet as one young woman fills a vase of flowers with water at the sink.
