Synopsis: On a downward spiral after the suicide of her best friend, 24-year-old Luisaidh (Karen Gillan) takes refuge in chips, binge drinking and joyless sex with strangers as she struggles to find something to give her life meaning.
Kitty Cameo: Early in the film Luisaidh is visiting her friend Donna (Rachel Jackson) and they sit in the window talking and smoking with cat statues and a picture of a ginger cat between them (presumably Donna’s cat but not the same as the one who appears in this film).
They are interrupted by Donna’s boyfriend’s son trying to enter the room and as Donna screams at him to go and play the angle changes to show Donna’s startled-looking orange and white cat sitting on the bed. The startled cat quickly makes a hasty exit.
Later, Liusaidh is back at Donna’s house. Donna is curled up on her bed (complete with cat pillows) with the cat in her lap. The poor cat is furiously wagging his tail, suggesting he’s not particularly happy to be there, which is understandable since Donna is shellacking her nails and her fingers are wrapped in tinfoil. In addition to that annoyance, the boy once again tries to enter her room to ask a question and she screams at him again.
Final Mewsings: Cats don’t like yelling or tinfoil.
