Synopsis: The Broadway musical based on Mel Brooks’ classic comedy gets an over-the-top big screen adaptation.

Kitty Cameo: At the opening of Leo Bloom (Matthew Broderick) and Max Bialystock’s (Nathan Lane) play Springtime for Hitler, Franz Liebkind (Will Ferrell) arrives on a motorcycle with a sidecar. As it approaches, a black cat is seen standing in the street. The cat runs out of the way, ducking into a doorway as the motorcycle comes to a stop.

Kitty Carnage Warning! Those involved with the making of the play explain to Leo Bloom why you can’t say “good luck” in the theater. In the background, Max is trying to jinx the show any way he can. After making people walk under a ladder and breaking a mirror, he picks up what is probably supposed to be the same black cat and swings it around several times before throwing it through the doorway. The good news is this is obviously a fake cat.
