Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: Set in Norway, a boy named Erik goes in search of his pussycat friend after she runs away because Erik was mean to his little brother Jan.
Featured Feline: Erik and Jan are spending a summer on their grandparents’ farm where Erik befriends an adorable tabby kitten referred to only as Pussycat. The narrator explains how Erik always gets some of the fresh cow’s milk in his little boat to give to Pussycat.
Erik makes the kitten a bed and plays with her.
The grandfather even lets the kitten accompany him and boys on his milk deliveries.
One day Erik, Jan, their mother and Pussycat are playing down by the fjord.
But Erik suddenly takes Jan’s boat and throws it into the water. Pussycat is appalled by this bad behavior and walks away.
Erik spends the rest of this short film looking for Pussycat, walking great distances to do so. He even goes into the woods and later imagines that Pussycat is there playing with the elves and fairies (kids in pixie hats . . . even the kitten wears a pixie hat!)
The elves are seen turning somersaults and then Pussycat is shown doing the same. Actually the kitten is just trying her level best to get the pixie hat off her head!
At the end of the short, Erik has saved Jan from being drowned and Pussycat comes out from her hiding place and they are fast friends again.

Final Mewsings: Kittens don’t tolerate bad behavior!
