by Mark Murton
Directed by: John Gilling
Synopsis: A woman with a hidden past (Jane Hylton) arrives in a quiet coastal village to take over the local pub and strikes up a friendship with one of her customers, a painter with a lucrative sideline in smuggling (Derek Bond).
Kitty Cameo: There’s no mention or sight of a cat for the first hour-plus then, about five minutes from the end of the film, the action switches to a harbour for the finale and in an establishing shot of the area a tabby cat is sitting among the debris on the quay (encouraged to stay in frame by the food placed there).

There’s a slight amount of tension as an automobile approaches. Fortunately the car veers off to park before reaching the cat.

Final Mewsings: Better a late cat appearance than none at all!
