Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains spoilers for this episode!
Synopsis: Felicia (voiced by Jane Webb) informs Waldo (voiced by Howard Morris) that the bulldog Tyrone (voiced by Allan Melvin) has been stealing all the food from the neighborhood cats. When Tyrone steals Waldo’s food as well, Waldo imagines he is the fabled hero Robin Cat.
Cat Burglars (Scene Stealers): The episode opens with Waldo Kitty sitting in his yard feeling hungry.

Felicia shows up and tells Waldo that Tyrone has stolen her food as well as the food of other neighborhood cats.

Waldo’s female owner calls him for lunch (with an amazingly huge bowl of food!) and Waldo runs over to start eating. Tyrone shows up and scares Waldo away before chomping down on the meal himself.

Felicia calls Waldo a coward and poor Waldo starts to dream about being Robin Cat and restoring what was stolen to the poor kitties.

Cartoon Cats: In the animated segment, Tyrone the Sheriff is dining with his canine henchmen when Waldo as Robin Cat shows up to take some bags of money.

Back in Sherwood Forest, Maid Felicia is making food when Robin Cat sends her flowers via an arrow.

Later Maid Felicia is decorating a moose with some flowers. She is arrested by Tyrone for sniffing daisies out of season.

Robin Cat and his Merry Cats (with Friar Duck) stop in their rescue when they see the Out of Town Cryer (actually one of Tyrone’s lackies) announcing a big jousting tournament in which Maid Felicia will award the prize.

In disguise, Robin and his men show up at the tournament.

Robin and his cats challenge the Sheriff and his dogs to a fight using quarterstaffs but the Sheriff gives them decidedly shorter poles.

During the archery competition, Robin competes without using a bowstring, which he claims is the “easy way.”

When firing his arrow, however, Robin cat accidentally shoots off his own mustache disguise.

As Robin and his Merry Cats escape he runs through the cage holding Maid Felicia and hurries her away but they are soon caught up a pole being chopped down by Tyrone.

After leading the Sheriff and his dogs into a mud bath, Robin Cat confronts King John and insists he relenquish the throne to Richard the Lionhearted. Tyrone and his dogs are also arrested and taken away.

Back in the live action portion, Waldo tells Tyrone to “have at thee, varlet!”

Tyrone chases Waldo into a crate which collapses on the bulldog.

Waldo’s owner finds Tyrone with Waldo’s favorite dish and scares the bulldog away. Waldo tells Felicia that his mom got it wrong; that she’s his favorite dish.
