Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: A lively screen adaptation of William Shakespeare’s play. Many suitors are interested in the hand of the lovely young Bianca (Natasha Pyne) but her father won’t give his blessing until he has managed to marry off his shrewish oldest daughter Katharina (Elizabeth Taylor) first.
Purr Blurs: When the boorish Petruchio (Richard Burton) comes calling for Katharina, she does everything she can to avoid his advances. This includes climbing out onto the tile roof of her home to escape him. As she makes her way across the roof, a family of cats can be seen.
Some of the cats are still there moments later when Petruchio ventures onto the roof in pursuit.
Final Mewsings: Can’t a cat get any privacy anywhere?
