Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!

Synopsis: Overbearing theatre director Philippe Davras (Christopher Lee) runs the Theatre of Death in Paris which specialises in horror presentations. When a series of gruesome murders take place in the area, police surgeon Charles Marquis (Julian Glover), whose girlfriend Dani (Lelia Goldoni) is part of the theatre company along with her room-mate Nicole (Jenny Till), is asked to investigate and he soon suspects a link to the theatre, with Davras the prime suspect.

Cat Burglar (Scene Stealer): At his home, Davras is seen petting his beautiful female Siamese cat named Seraphina who purrs loudly.

Nicole is also there, to receive personal tuition from Davras. As she performs, the cat jumps up on the table next to Davras and walks over to him.

Concerned about Nicole’s plan to move in with Davras, Dani goes to discuss it with him. As she moves through the seemingly empty house calling to him, the cat reacts to her arrival.

The cat cries out as she gets closer.

Darvas eventually appears and after humiliating Dani and sending her away in tears he picks up Seraphina and carries her over to show her the parrot in its cage.

As the murders continue, Dani and Charles become increasingly concerned whether Nicole is safe at Davras’s and go to check on her. Finding no one at home they settle down to wait. Suddenly they hear a crash in the next room. Going to investigate they find Seraphina has knocked the parrot’s cage to the floor and is prowling around. Seraphina isn’t seen again after this.

Final Mewsings: Such a pretty cat definitely deserves more screen time!
