United Artists Corporation
Starring: Sean Connery, Claudine Auger, Adolfo Celi, Luciana Paluzzi
Directed by: Terence Young
Synopsis: Once again James Bond (Sean Connery) is up against SPECTRE as the evil organization steals two nuclear bombs from a NATO training exercise and plans to blackmail the United States and Britain into paying £100 million in diamonds.
Cinema Cat: The head of SPECTRE is the mysterious Ernst Stavro Blofeld, who is still played as an unseen entity in a chair stroking a white Angora cat. He is seen near the beginning of the movie as he sits behind a panel covering his face and issues instructions to his international team of evil-doers.
He appears only briefly again after the nuclear bombs are stolen. Sadly there are not as many close-ups of Blofeld’s cat in this Bond film entry.
Final Mewsings: Evil villains with cats are smart enough to let their henchmen to do all the underwater work.
