Timber the Treasure Dog (2016)

by Mark Murton

Directed by: Ari Novak

Synopsis: 12-year-old Mikey (J D Hoppe) lives with his father and 16-year-old sister on a Montana ranch which is threatened with foreclosure. Hope arrives in the form of Mikey’s inheritance from his recently deceased grandfather, an Alaskan husky called Timber who holds a clue to the local legend of buried treasure.

Cat Burglar (Scene Stealer): The numerous animals in the film can all talk (although they can only be understood by each other and not the humans). In an early scene at the ranch Mikey’s sister Claire (Sage Chase) is seen bottle-feeding a ginger tabby kitten (voiced by Nikki C. Moler) which exclaims “This is home. I don’t wanna leave!”

While most of the other animals feature more than once, the kitten isn’t seen again.

Final Mewsings: The real treasure was in the barn all the time: that adorable kitten.
