Original Title: La Noche del Terror Ciego (The Night of the Blind Terror).
Directed by: Armando de Ossorio
Synopsis: Medieval knights executed for their black magic rituals (and left for the crows to peck out their eyes) come back as zombies to torment those who stray into the abandoned medieval town of Berzano on the Spanish Portuguese border.
Purr Blur: After an argument during a train journey with her travelling companions, Virginia White (María Elena Arpón) jumps off the train and soon comes across the ruins of Berzano. While exploring she is surprised by a Siamese cat suddenly running out of the shadows (complete with Poor Cat Screech).
Two different shots are used for this Spring-Loaded Cat moment. The first shows the cat for only a second and it appears to be darker than the Siamese in the closer shot. It’s difficult to tell, but it’s very possible two completely different cats were used to complete the segment.
Final Mewsings: It’s easier to believe the dead will rise than a cat survive in the middle of nowhere with no obvious food source.
