Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: Porky Pig deals with a mouse problem by using a cat and then has to deal with a cat problem.
Cartoon Cats: After Porky unsuccessfully tries to trap the mice which are running rampant in his rented cabin, he wonders how he’s going to get rid of the rodents. There is a knock at the door and when it opens a black and white cat stands there holding a sign with an arrow pointing down saying, “Does this answer your question?”
Porky happily welcomes the cat inside and leads him to the kitchen.
The mice are nervous when they see the cat.
The cat baits an elaborate Rube Goldberg-style trap and then waits for the results.
The set up is successful and the cat is able to eliminate all the mice one by one.
Porky is thrilled that he can now get some sleep and pats the cat before racing up to bed.
Before Porky can get any sleep there is a loud ruckus which sounds like a piano being thrown around. He races downstairs to find the cat is now drunk with his cat buddies and singing On Moonlight Bay at the top of their kitty lungs.
Porky tries to stop them but the cats eject him. The black and white cat then shoots Porky away using the doorknob like a pinball shooter.
The cats then bundle Porky outside while singing For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow.
Porky races to town and gets a bulldog which he sends in to deal with the cats. But the bulldog just gets drunk and sings When Irish Eyes Are Smiling with them instead.
In the end Porky decides just to join them in their song.
Final Mewsings: Cats know how to work hard and party harder.
