Synopsis: Loosely based on the true murder mystery known as The Black Dahlia. Los Angeles detective Tom Spellacy (Robert Duvall) works to solve the vicious murder of a woman which may have ties to the Catholic church in Los Angeles where his brother Father Des Spellacy (Robert De Niro) is a monsignor.
Kitty Cameo: During an early scene Det. Spellacy and his partner are called to a brothel where a john has died. Spellacy talks privately to the brothel’s madame, Brenda Samuels (Rose Gregorio) and she confronts him about her having gone to jail while he escaped prosecution as a bagman. At the beginning of this scene Brenda is feeding a black and white cat on the floor.
