Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: Meilin (voiced by Rosalie Chiang) has enough troubles turning thirteen without finding out that any release of strong emotions turns her into a giant red panda.
Cartoon Cats: In one scene Meilin’s mother and father are testing her ability to hold in her emotions to keep from transforming. As part of the test the father brings in a cardboard box. When Meilin opens the box, she is confronted by five adorable kittens.
Meilin really has to struggle not to overreact with joy as the kittens begin crawling on her.
Amazingly she keeps her composure and the kittens lick her and start to go to sleep as she remains calm, much to the amazement of her parents.
Meilin puts the kittens back into the box.
There are also two temple cats seen in the background of some scenes.
In one scene they are sleeping on the steps just inside the temple gate with a kitten between them.
As heavy footsteps approach from outside, the cats leap up, the mama grabbing up the kitten by the scruff as they hurry away.
Final Mewsings: Temples are the ideal place for red pandas and cats as they both deserve to be worshipped!
