Directed by: Vincente Minnelli
Synopsis: Actor Jack Andrus (Kirk Douglas) sees the offer to work behind the scenes on a film in Rome as an opportunity to put his troubled past behind him.
Kitty Cameo: In one scene Jack confronts the young male star of the film Davie Drew (George Hamilton). Davie is lying on a couch in the dubbing room with a Siamese cat on his chest.
Jack starts out speaking nicely and even takes the cat in his arms and pets it.
Before laying into the actor and talking straight with him, Jack sets the Siamese cat down on a table behind them.
The cat remains on the table, preening, and doesn’t even flinch when Jack knocks a paper cup out of Davie’s hand.
Final Mewsings: Must be a calm cat to be allowed in a dubbing room!
Many thanks to Ted Davis for letting us know about the cat in this film!
