Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: Caroline (Marisa Tomei) is a lonely waitress who befriends a quiet busboy named Adam (Christian Slater) but soon finds there is more to him than she originally imagined.
Kitty Cameo: Caroline owns a tabby cat with white markings who is not named. The cat is first seen sitting on her bed as she is surrounded by presents for the boyfriend who just broke up with her. She then curls up on the bed.
In another scene, the cat is sitting on the dining table. Caroline’s father (Richard Grusin) walks by and pushes the cat down off the table.
Caroline invites Adam to a New Year’s Eve party at her house. He is seen sitting outside on the porch petting the cat which is in his lap.
Caroline sees Adam outside and joins him. It turns out he had arrived two hours before but was too shy to enter the house with all the people.
At the end of the scene, Adam and Caroline kiss as the cat walks past them.
Final Mewsings: Cats like it when people spend New Year’s Eve with them.
