Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: A remake of the Italian classic I soliti ignoti (Big Deal on Madonna Street) set in Collinwood, Ohio, where a group of inept burglars attempt to break into an apartment to access jewels kept in a safe in an adjacent building.
Kitty Cameo: When the crooks finally break into the apartment, they break a water pipe and then hear the janitor (Rohn Thomas) enter. While the janitor makes a phone call to the tenant, a long-haired cat approaches Pero (Sam Rockwell). Pero tries to push the cat away gently with his foot.
The janitor then notices the water on the floor. Fearing the man will investigate, Pero picks up the cat and throws it at the man.
The janitor concludes that the cat had peed on the floor and lets it go at that. A fake cat was substituted for the real thing before the animal was thrown.
Final Mewsings: Desperate crooks are not above throwing cats.
