Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!

Synopsis: On a camping trip to the California mountains, Steven Anders (Peter Graves) and his two teenage children are exploring a cave when they experience an earthquake. After emerging, they hear from a ranch-hand who was outside that there was a bright solar flash prior to the earthquake. He soon falls ill and dies, whereupon his body turns to a powdery substance. Anders determines to return to the family home in Malibu in search of his wife who left the campsite earlier to return there.

Cat Attack: The family come down from the mountain to the nearest town and find the place deserted, just more piles of the powdery substance. Entering a nearby building Anders is confronted by a black cat which, complete with Poor Cat Screech, launches itself (or rather is “catapulted”) at him.
