Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains spoilers for this episode!
Synopsis: Two sisters, Joanna (Julia Ormond) and Wendy (Mädchen Amick) are two witches who have had to deal with their individual family curses for centuries. Joanna is cursed to repeatedly bare two children who are doomed to die and Wendy is cursed as a black cat with only nine lives. Together they must battle an evil enemy and try to protect Joanna’s daughters.
Featured Feline: When we first see Wendy she is in her black cat form running down a sidewalk and into the street. She wears the same necklace when she is a cat and when she is human. The cat is hit by a car and the car’s driver is startled to find not a cat laying in the street in front of her car but a naked woman. Wendy has just lost another one of her lives, but she comes back to life in the morgue and goes to her sister to warn her of danger.
Later Joanna has to tell her daughters that Wendy is there and warns them that she’s a little “off.” Wendy picks that moment to jump on the table by them in cat form, startling them all. Joanna explains that her sister also brought her cat and threatens to have it spayed, making Wendy scurry away.
Kitty Carnage Warning! There is one scene near the end of the episode when Wendy is stabbed. When she dies, they see her dead on the floor in cat form.
Final Mewsings: Chances are Wendy will lose a life if that necklace gets caught on something!
