by Ted Davis
Directed by: Ralph Fiennes
Synopsis: One of the poorest Shakespeare adaptions ever committed to film, the tragedy of proud and contemptuous Caius Marcius Coriolanus (Ralph Fiennes), who refused to flatter the masses, is updated extremely awkwardly with clumsy attempts at relevance to modern times. It’s hard to believe, but Fiennes directs even more abysmally than he performs. Read the play and skip the movie.
Purr Blur: After his exile, as Coriolanus trudges through a destitute and ugly environment, a brown tabby cat scurries into the undergrowth.

Final Mewsings: The tabby was shunned by his peers after they learned that he appeared in this atrocity.
