Baby Bottleneck (1946)

by Linda Kay

Directed by: Robert Clampett

Synopsis: An increase in baby production overworks the storks, so Porky Pig and Daffy Duck have to step in to keep the deliveries moving in this wild Looney Tunes entry.

Cartoon Cats: Three kittens are included in the opening segments which show how the temporary help brought in to support the storks is going awry. As the narrator explains that inexperienced help is being used for emergency deliveries, a dog with a propeller tail carries multiple baby animals on one trip, including a black and white kitten in a small airplane.

A newspaper headline and the narrator admit that some mistakes have been made, and we see a black and white kitten protesting wildly as a mother duck tries to get him to swim.

Another black and white kitten has been delivered to a Mr. Mouse who cowers in fear at the baby’s playful but rough pawing.
