Crime 101 (2026)

by Linda Kay

Directed by: Bart Layton

Synopsis: A disciplined jewel thief known as Mike (Chris Hemsworth) successfully evades capture despite the determined investigation of detective Lou Lubesnick (Mark Ruffalo) who is continuously at odds with his police superiors about the profile of the criminal. But a near miss shakes Mike’s confidence, causing his fence (Nick Nolte) to recruit the highly irrational Ormon (Barry Keoghan) to pull off the robberies. In response to this betrayal, Mike approaches disillusioned insurance broker Sharon Coombs (Halle Berry), who is repeatedly overlooked for promotion, in hopes that she will sell out one of her high end clients.

Kitty Cameo: Detective Lubesnick is not only shunned by his fellow officers but by his wife. He moves out of the house, taking with him a grey tabby cat who rides shotgun in a file box in his car.
