by Ted Davis and Linda Kay
Also Known As: Loves of Casanova
Directed by: Alexandre Volkoff
Synopsis: The restless and adventurous spirit of Giacomo Casanova (Ivan Mosjoukine), a renowned swordsman both in and out of the boudoir, takes him from the humid environs of Venice, Italy to the precarious royal court of Russia, where he dallies with jealous and formidable Catherine the Great (Suzanne Bianchetti), then back again to his familiar stomping grounds of Venice, where he is sentenced to death for the unacceptable offense of practicing sorcery.
Purr Blurs: At the beginning of the movie, while Casanova is performing his morning toilette with his helpful female staff, three black kittens are playing in the middle distance. The human trio move to a couple of fluffy puppies and ignore the cats completely.

If you look very closely, you can see the cats’ attention seems to be held by something moving between them. Since the movement cannot be that of a toy, paper or even a mouse it would appear that someone off screen is using something reflective to create a spot of light to keep the kitties’ amused and in place.

Final Mewsings: Even before lasers cats liked to chase the elusive “dot” of light!
