Synopsis: Children’s Film Foundation film with Anthony Kemp as Tony, a young boy with a vivid imagination who discovers a plot to kidnap the visiting Prime Minister. Only no one will believe him so it’s up to Tony and his friends to try and foil the plot.
Purr Blur: As the film nears its climax, Tony spots a gun barrel pointing out of the window of a building overlooking the presentation ceremony. He enters the building and stealthily starts to climb the spiral staircase. He seems certain to be discovered when the shadow of a man appears on the wall just above him, but just then a cat comes down the steps and past him. “It was only a cat,” says the man casting the shadow. “Are you sure?” says another. “Of course I’m sure,” is the curt reply.

Final Mewsings: Cats are great at providing much needed distractions.
Many thanks to RobG for also spotting the cat in this film.
