by Ted Davis
Also Known As: I Promise to Pay
Directed by: Sidney Hayers
Synopsis: Vicious and pitiless Johnny Mellors (Michael Craig, cast against type) dominates the weaker willed members of his gang, Blackie (Tom Bell), Monty (Kenneth Griffith) and Bert (Barry Keegan), as they attempt a daring but inadequately planned robbery of an armored truck, an overoptimistic scheme that follows the expected trajectory. This British crime picture is elevated by its ensemble of players, which also includes Billie Whitelaw, William Lucas and Glyn Houston.
Kitty Cameo: In a panic after reading a newspaper headline about the robbery, Monty rushes into his dingy rooming house and up the stairs where he disturbs a longhair white and tabby cat enjoying a nice snack.

When Monty is confronted by his insistent landlady (Anita Sharp-Bolster), the cat uses the opportunity to scoot down the stairs.

Final Mewsings: Landladies and cats go together like arrogant hoods and failed heists.
