Synopsis: Innkeeper Albert (Jean Gabin) swears off escapist drinking during World War II but faces temptation when guest Gabriel (Jean-Paul Belmondo) takes similar flights of fancy while imbibing.
Purr Blur: Gabriel visits the shop of Landru (Noël Roquevert) who points out the young man is sitting on a box of fireworks. After Gabriel leaps up from the crate, a calico cat is “catapulted” onto the container with an Poor Cat Screech then understandably beats a hasty retreat.



Final Mewsings: If cats could read, they wouldn’t let people throw them onto boxes marked “explosives.”
