A Thousand Words (2012)

Synopsis: Literary agent Jack McCall (Eddie Murphy) is surprised when a Bodhi tree suddenly appears on his property and even more surprised when he realizes that the tree is shedding leaves and that he’s dying with every word he says.

Kitty Cameo: In an act of desperation, Jack runs around doing good deeds for people as his assistant watches the tree. In one scenario he helps a little girl (Darcy Rose Byrnes) whose orange tabby cat Mittens is stuck in a tree.

Jack climbs a ladder and reaches out to Mittens but the cat hisses at him.

The cat then leaps onto Jack’s face and the ladder falls backwards, the cat and Jack both falling with it. The face leap and the fall were both done using a fake cat prop.

The girl is reunited with Mittens and Jack finds out the tree is still losing leaves.
