Original Airdate: 2004
Directed by: Colin Still
Synopsis: A reading of Christopher Smart’s (1722-1771) poem For I will consider my cat Jeoffry, taken from the larger work Jubilate Agno (English: Rejoice in the Lamb), written between 1758 and 1763 while Smart was confined to Bedlam for his supposed “religious mania.”
Featured Feline: A flame point Siamese cat is present throughout the reading, first being held by the reader, Aidan Andrew Dun.
Then on the floor in close-up.
At other times playing with a “fishing rod” toy.
Or just happily frolicking in the straw on floor.
Final Mewsings: Cats are mother nature’s poetry.
