Synopsis: Bobby Bumps and his bulldog Fido are directed to go fishing by the child creator of their cartoon as they interact with the real world.
Cat Burglars (Scene Stealers): A black cat sits beside the drawing as the boy director asks Bobby and Fido to row into the picture.

They crash their rowboat off the frame of the drawing.

The cat seems uninterested in their fishing endeavors at first.

But when Bobby hooks a large fish the cat suddenly leaps at the picture and snatches the cartoon fish, running off with it as the boat tips over!

Bobby sends Fido after the cat but he is flummoxed when he finds the kitty nursing a litter of kittens. Fido laughs at the sight and returns to Bobby who asks if he “got her?” Fido laughs again and says the line was busy.

Later after Bobby demands a more realistic set for the lake, the director places the scenery in a barrel of water which sloshes into a storm, tossing Bobby and Fido’s boat around. The black cat sits off to the side and laughs at their predicament by means of a cartoon eye and mouth superimposed over the footage.

Moments later Bobby lassoes the cat and ends up pulling her into the water!

This black cat was one of the Bray Studio regulars who appeared in many of these live-action / animated short films.
Final Mewsings: Cats don’t want to be part of cartoons if they are going to get wet.
