Starring: John Howard, Heather Angel, Reginald Denny
Directed by: James Hogan
Synopsis: Captain Hugh C. ‘Bulldog’ Drummond (John Howard) and his fianceé Phyllis Clavering (Heather Angel) hope to finally be married in Drummond’s expansive country estate Rockingham Tower but the revelation that there may be a treasure hidden in secret passages below the house, as well as ruthless men trying to steal it, may upset their plans once again.
Cat Burglar (Scene Stealer): Near the beginning of the film a man arrives at Rockingham by train. This is Professor Downey (Forrester Harvey) who is bringing the information about the treasure to Drummond. He asks the station master the way to the estate. The station master has a cat in his arms.
The calico-colored cat looks perfectly at home in the station master’s arms, both standing and sitting with ease.
The cat remains in the man’s arms throughout the entire scene.
Kitty Cameo: Later in the estate Drummond is sitting with Phyllis when she sees some curtains on the other side of the room moving. She screams and Drummond grabs up what looks like a cup and throws it at the curtains. The cup shatters at the foot of the curtains and a tabby cat runs out from behind them, pausing to look back in confusion and then running out of the room never to be seen again.
Final Mewsings: You may want to check behind the curtains before throwing stuff!
