Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: A parody of the film Casablanca as performed by an all star cast of Warner Bros. Looney Tunes characters headed by Bugs Bunny (voiced by Greg Burson) as Rick.
Cartoon Cats: This short follows the original movie fairly closely with the expected gags thrown in. Kitty Ketty, portrayed by Penelope (voiced by Tress MacNeille) in the part of Ilsa, arrives at Rick’s on the arm of Slazlo, based on Victor Laszlo and portrayed by Sylvester (voiced by Joe Alaskey).
She is immediately propositioned by Captain Louis, based on Renault and played by Pepe Le Pew. But this time Kitty is able to unsheath her claws and defend herself against the unwanted advances.
Seeing Daffy Duck as Sam playing the piano, Kitty requests her favorite song.
After only one note Bugs appears and yells at Sam for playing that tune. Sam is quick to lay the blame on Kitty.
After seeing Kitty, Rick recalls their romance in Paris which Kitty ended suddenly, breaking his heart.
Later that night Kitty shows up and begs Rick for help in rescuing Slazlo from General Pandemonium (Yosemite Sam).
Having rescued Slazlo, Kitty bids a tearful farewell to Rick on the airstrip.
But Captain Louis is on the plane, causing Kitty to bail out, landing on her feet by Rick.
Final Mewsings: Female cats can take care of themselves!
