Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!

Synopsis: When a suburban police station is understaffed due to a flu epidemic, three new recruits, straight from training school, are assigned to help out.

Cat Burglar (Scene Stealer): Walking the beat near a church, one of the new recruits, PC Timothy Gorse (Charles Hawtrey), is approached by a woman (Noel Dyson) who tells him her cat, Fluff, has escaped from his basket as they were returning from the vets. She leads him into the church and indicates that Fluff has climbed the ladder to the belfry. Gorse gamely climbs the ladder and quickly spots Fluff who is less than pleased to see him.

As Gorse approaches the cat it takes off again, climbing another ladder up into the bell tower.

Gorse decides the best course of action is to ring one of the bells to try and frighten the cat down, but things don’t go to plan as he finds himself hoisted high up into the bell tower on the end of the rope. Seizing his chance, Fluff now quickly descends the ladder.

As Gorse continues to flail around on the end of the bell rope, Fluff continues down the second ladder and straight into his basket.

Final Mewsings: A cat in the belfry is better than a bat in the belfry.
